Lisa Stedman is the principal psychologist of Mind Journey Psychology and has over 20 years of experience in working with adults, couples and families. She is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), a Board-approved supervisor and a Member of The Australian Psychological Society (APS).
Lisa’s vision is to empower you with the skills and coping strategies to achieve optimal mental, emotional and physical health making your life more fulfilling. She believes in a holistic approach to therapy embracing your beliefs, values, emotions and physical being. Lisa brings a warm, non-judgemental and nurturing style to therapeutic relationships, allowing you to feel heard and understood. She aims to help you find clarity in your life and offers another perspective. It is very normal to feel unsure about seeking psychological support. Lisa endeavours to provide a calm, safe, accepting space for you to feel comfortable.
She uses a range of evidenced based therapies including cognitive behavioural therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, schema therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, family therapy and mindfulness.
Lisa sees adults, couples and families with a range of presenting issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, chronic pain, chronic illness, relationship difficulties, stress, low self-esteem and life transitions.
Lisa enjoys integrating her love of nature, the outdoors and mindfulness into the way she works. She offers walk and talk consultations in nature as part of her services.
Lisa offers supervision to other health professionals such as counsellors, social workers and psychologists. She is a board-approved supervisor offering supervision to provisional psychologists as either a primary or secondary supervisor.
